NC Forestry Association

Each year the North Carolina Forestry Association also with its partners, the North Carolina Forest Service and the NC Sustainable Forestry Implementation Committee, deliver three regional workshops.  These workshop are designed to educate teachers about forestry and the importance of forestry to the state of North Carolina.  They also include Project Learning Tree curriculum that help teachers be able to translate the forestry information into practical classroom lessons that fall in line with NC State Educational Standards.  We are looking to fill out workshops this year with 120 educators.  The cost is only $50.  The NCFA and its partners pay for all food, lodging, and transportation once at the workshop.  We also pay for a fun activities at each workshop for the teachers. We are looking for teachers from 3rd through 12th grade, but all teachers that have never attended the workshop including non-traditional educators are welcome.  Educators will also receive 30 CEU contact hours …

Fall 2016 Session 2

Fall 2016, Session 2- Instructor-facilitated Online Courses Mark your calendars! Our second session of facilitated online courses will be open for registration soon. Below is the list of instructor–facilitated online courses being offered by Educator Effectiveness, NCDPI for the Fall Session 2. (Remember, that unlike these facilitated courses, our self-paced modules are always open for enrollment.) Our facilitated courses provide the opportunity to interact with peers and an instructor along with high-quality professional development. They combine the flexibility of working from anywhere at any time, and the benefits of working with a cohort of peers. Fall Session 2 courses will start Monday October 17. Registration for these courses will open October 3, 2016. FREE Facilitated Online Summer Courses

Just one week remains for those interested in enrolling in Educator Effectiveness summer online courses. The Educator Effectiveness Division still has seats open for 11 instructor-facilitated online courses. These courses provide high-quality professional development and the opportunity to interact with peers and an instructor.
